some 13 year olds are dumb as hell but some 16 year olds are dumb as hell too so its not an age thing some people are just fucking dumb as hell

When a kid falls in love with an airplane or a bike or a dinosaur—especially if you’re an only child and it’s not because of the book that the sibling was reading—it’s like, fuck, you mean to tell me that the dinosaurs walked the earth and stuff like that?! That’s amazing! You mean to tell me that these giant multi-ton crafts can fly that fast and that loud, and they can flip, and there’s danger, the possibility of them exploding? That’s fucking cool! You mean to tell me that this girl with this fucking body and this face is also into style, and she’s a nice person, and she has her own money and is family-oriented? That’s just as cool as a fucking fighter jet or dinosaur! And just as rarely seen.

The Maine - My Heroine

Of all the tours we’ve done together I always get excited when Jared starts playing that opening guitar riff. This will be a cool song to see live this summer
We Are The In Crowd - The Best Thing (That Never Happened)
These kids are some of my good friends and old touring compadres. Tay sent me this tune not too long ago and I remember being a fan of it right away. I loved how they managed to put so much energy and attitude into one song.
Saves The Day - Shoulder To The Wheel
Saves the day has been one of my favorite bands since I was in 7th grade. I remember hearing this song and seeing the music video and being hooked. I can only hope they play this song and others from this record this summer. I’ll be in heaven
Every Time I Die - I Suck (Blood)
Believe it or not ETID is one of my favorite bands and has been since early highschool. I love driving around playing them loud in my car. They are one of the main reasons I’m stoked to be on warped this summer.
Finch - Letters To You
Not much to say here. I loved Finch and I’m sure a lot of the bands playing this summer can agree. This will be a fun as to catch.
Echosmith - Cool Kids
Not sure where I first heard this band from but when I heard this song I loved it right away. I’m pretty stoked to see this live.
Mayday Parade - Kids In Love
Some of the coolest and devoted group of guys I’ve ever toured with. I can’t wait to spend a summer with these guys.
A couple that aren’t playing this year..
Alkaline Trio - My Friend Peter
Alkaline Trio will always be one of my favorite bands. This was the first song I ever heard from them. I was in 7th grade at the time. Will always be my favorite song.
Glassjaw - Tip Your Bartender
I remember seeing Glassjaw on warped in like 2004 or something. Damn this song would be awesome to see live again.
Blink 182 - The Rock Show
This will always be the song I think about when I think about Warped Tour.

There are so many great bands out on the Vans Warped Tour and I’m lucky enough to get to put a lot of them together in the Acoustic Basement stage, which I run and perform on as well. Here are just 10 of some of my favorites that I’m looking forward to this summer. I implore you to do your homework and give them all a fair listen, you might discover something new that could change your life or at least make your day more awesome. Come say hi to me in the tent this summer. Cheers!

I am a positive person but I get really tired of aggressive optimism. If someone’s sad, let them be sad. All emotions have purpose. Sadness isn’t destructive if not prolonged. Sadness isn’t unproductive, as it offers awareness. Telling someone to “cheer up” or “be happy” is so ineffective and patronizing. The last thing a sad person needs is for someone to judge their feelings as pointless and unappealing. Welcome sadness, just don’t let it consume you.
